Last Day of Q2!

Demo & Pizza Box Design

Objective:  I will be able to understand the functions of yeast and how to properly use it when completing the pizza crust lab Agenda: 1. Demo Pizza Crust for Tomorrow. Pay attention to the kneading demonstration, you will need to do this tomorrow! - After watching the demo-- draw and write out all the stages of dough for our pizza crust (mixing, kneading, proofing/rising, punching, rolling/shaping, and baking) 2.  Review: Yeast Functions and Gluten         Video:    The Science Behind Bread 4. C reate a pizza box design that represents your kitchen and pizza. We will share at the end of class! -Create a logo -Box Design -Slogan or Name   -Theme?            5.  Watch:   What is gluten?   Or How its Made: Bread Bell Ringer:  What is gluten? What is its function and how does it make bread rise (what gas is inside the dough)?

Chocolate Chip Cookies Day 2

Objective:  I will be able to make monkey bread and understand how to read a recipe by the end of the period Agenda: 1.  Complete:  Chocolate Chip Cookies Day 2 & evaluation forms 2. DEEP CLEAN DAY! Bell Ringer:  What are some things that you found difficult about our first few labs? What did your kitchen do well?

Brownie Lab

Objective:  I will be able to understand how to produce a recipe from start to finish and understand measuring by the end of the period Agenda: 1. Go over directions and assign job roles Don't forget to tie back your hair and wash your hands Fill up sink-- Do NOT put food down the drain! Communicate with group members Clean as you go! 2.  Complete cheddar biscuit lab  by the end of the period! Demo-- chocolate chip cookies while they bake! 3. Complete evaluation form (one per kitchen), create teacher sample and turn in on supply counter. 4. End of lab cleaning!

Measuring Activity

Objective:  I will be able to understand the basics kitchen equipment and proper measuring by the end of the period Standard 8.02:  Understands and applies basics of nutrition Agenda: Go over bell ringer and pass out activity Discuss measuring lab activity-- 4 minutes at each station Demo how to measure (Dry, Liquid, and Measuring Spoons) and stations Turn and talk! Did you finish the whole assignment on time? How comfortable do you feel measuring wet and dry ingredients? What is the difference between measuring wet and dry ingredients?
